I grew up outside Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990. I completed a transitional internship at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Since I received a Health Professional Scholarship from the United Sates Navy, I became an Undersea Medical Officer and was stationed at Camp Lejune for the Marines from 1992-1994. At Camp Lejune, I specialized in Diving Medicine while working with Reconnaissance Marines and occasionally with the Navy SEAL teams.
After fullfilling my obligation to the Navy, I started a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. I was the Chief Resident during my last year of residency. Subsequently, I completed a Fellowship in Sports and Spine Medicine in Bloomingdale. During the Fellowship, I received additional training in sports medicine, spinal injections and procedures.
After completing my fellowship, I joined Lake Cook Orthopedics in 1998. Currently, at Lake Cook Orthopedics I see a variety of patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular diseases. I believe I have a great fit with my partners since I am a physiatrist and they are all orthopedic surgeons. We compliment each other since they are surgeons and I am not. My special interests include treating patients with osteoporosis. I am a member of various organizations including: The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Association of Neuroelectrodiagnostic Medicine, the National Osteoporosis Foundation, International Spine Intervention Society and the Illinois Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ISPMR). In fact, I was president of the ISPMR from 2002-2004. Currently, I also am on several committees with the above organizations and occasional publishes articles. In addition, I am the Rehabilitation Director at Lexington Health Care in Lake Zurich.
I currently am married with two children and enjoy family time with my daughters and wife. She is an attorney and works at Prairie State legal Services. My other interests include running and SCUBA diving.
